MEET OUR FOUNDER, JENNY

Jenny, founder of DURI, arrives at 6am every day to prep fresh food with care, setting the café’s warm, welcoming vibe. She moves through the kitchen with quiet focus - picking the best ingredients, fine-tuning seasoning, and crafting each dish so every morning feels intentionally made. Her early routine is more than habit; it’s a promise that everything from the kitchen is handcrafted and thoughtful.

Jenny’s passion is to make DURI the neighbourhood spot where people taste, discover, and share meaningful moments. She believes two people — or even one person and a new flavour — can spark a connection, and she builds DURI around that simple idea: food as invitation. From the menu to the room layout and the way staff greet guests, every detail supports small encounters that become lasting memories, whether it’s a first visit, a daily ritual, or an unexpected conversation over a shared dish.

What does
DURI mean?

In Korean, there is a simple expression: “둘이” (duri:두리), meaning two people together.

It is an ordinary word, but to us, it carries something warm.

Two people walking together.
Eating together.
Talking together.
Discovering something new together.

They might be partners, friends or family.

That feeling is where DURI begins.

Something comfortable.
Something close.
Something shared.

At DURI in Ealing, we want that feeling to go beyond the people you already know.

We want DURI to be a place where anyone can discover something together.

Taste Korean food.
Stop for coffee.
Find an ingredient you have never tried before.
Discover a new flavour, a new story or a little piece of everyday Korean culture.

DURI is more than a place that sells Korean products. We want it to be a neighbourhood space for Korean discovery — a place to taste, explore, share and enjoy.

And even if you walk into DURI alone, that is perfectly fine.

You might leave having discovered a new flavour, a new story, or perhaps even something to share with someone else.

DURI
A little Korean discovery, better shared.
